If you have a standalone vault

When you open 1Password 7 for the first time, your folders will be converted to tags.

If your vault is in the Agile Keychain format, you’ll be prompted to convert it to the newer OPVault format. This format provides faster, more reliable syncing, and is even more secure. The OPVault format is compatible with 1Password on your other devices:

  • Mac and iOS: 1Password 6 or later
  • Windows: 1Password 4 or later
  • Android: 1Password 6.3 or later

Converting your vault will make a copy of it in the same sync location. You’ll need to configure your other devices to sync with the new vault. If you don’t convert your vault, you won’t be able to create or edit items until you convert it.
